There are several options for viewing the Pacific Air Show and the show is amazing from any angle, however, some viewing areas are better than others. Show Center is directly in front of Hilton Waterfront which is where the general admission and VIP tents are located. These will of course offer the best view since that's where the performers will do most of their passes. This will also be will the announcers will be so you'll have all the info about what's going on. If you want to watch the air show without paying for admission, you can of course watch from the north side of the pier or south of the fenced off area near Beach Blvd. Viewing won't be focused in front of you but you will definitely still see the action. You can also book a ticket for a boat the watch the show which offers prime viewing without having to look into the sun and also offers a great beach backdrop for photographers. This is not something for people who get sea sick but it is a great option so you don't have to deal with the parking chaos since you board the boats in Newport Harbor. If you want a high vantage point, Hilton Waterfront offers viewing from their rooftop lounge which gives you comfortable viewing while looking straight out to the performers.
