Blue Light Mine

In 1877, two hunters found silver ore here and that started a whole operation which last until the 1950's. Named the "Blue Light Mine," this was a large operation with 9 entrances tucked into a canyon to the south of Silverado Canyon Rd. The mining town that sprang up near here was known as Carbondale but was later changed to Silverado. After two kids died in this mine while exploring it, most of the entrances were sealed off with bat friendly closures. The only thing remaining here are the remnants like the foundations and some random scraps.
