A unique place where the Colorado and Mojave Deserts converge creating two types of desert ecosystems, Death Valley National Park is home to an amazing array of desert landscape, flora, and fauna. Only about 2 hours drive from Orange County, this is a great place for Orange Countians to get away from the city lights and see the stars, all of them! During daytime it's a great place to see Joshua Trees which thrive in this environment as well as cool boulders. Several hikes in the park will lead you to old mines as well.
