Aliso And Woods Canyon
Aliso And Woods canyon Wilderness Park
A beautiful 4,500 acre wilderness park tucked right between Laguna Niguel, Aliso Viejo, and Laguna Beach filled with miles of hiking trails and preserved land. There is much to explore here including some important history of Orange County dating back to the indigenous Acajchemen People later known as The Juaneño Band Of Mission Indians. There is also an area known as Dripping Cave where the Juan Flores Gang hid out after robbing stagecoaches. Two year-round creeks flow through the wilderness which make for a great sight and sounds while exploring the area as well as several open fields that you may find animals hunting such as coyotes and red-tailed hawks and even a bobcat if you're really lucky.
The ranger station is situated near the intersection of Alicia Pkwy and Aliso Creek Rd. on Awma Rd. where you can pick up a park map and plan your trek with the rangers. Parking there is $3 per vehicle at the self service machines.
