Santiago Peak

At 5,689 feet above sea level, this is the highest point of Orange County and offers stunning 360 ° views. Is it about 8 miles each way via Holy Jim Trail from Trabuco Canyon, you will start the hike headed towards Holy Jim Falls, about 1 mile into the hike, shortly before you get to the waterfall, you'll make a left on a trail that will immediately have you ascending switchbacks. It is recommended to do this trail during cooler months due to the lack of shade and water. Also it is recommended to have a high clearance vehicle to access this trailhead as you will drive down a dirt road for 5 miles. There are several ways to summit Santiago Peak including from Ortega Highway via North Main Divide Road, from Corona via Skyline Drive, and Silverado Canyon via Maple Springs Truck Trail. North Main Divide and Maple Springs Truck Trail are both open seasonally to street legal vehicles so expect vehicles there.
